This is the original tapestry weaving of Aquamarine.

In weaving this piece, I wanted a share my fantasy of swimming underneath a kelp forest and looking up at the sky. This started with a 5 minute sketch that was 3”x5” and grew into a 28” x 21” woven tapestry.  All of the colors were hand dyed with plant dyes and Saxon blue (it is a dye that is both a natural and synthetic dye).
 
This piece has been shown at the Evanston Art Center in Evanston, Illinois for the juried show Thinking Through Tapestry, a show in partnership with American Tapestry Alliance.
