Sharon is a double weave with a natural brown camel warp, thick ochre woolen weft that is ombré with plant-pigmented jewel tones.  It was woven alongside its partner, Steve, on the same warp.  This rug has a tangible texture due to the weave structure. 
 
This is the abbreviated story for this rug - Sharon (for this listing) and Steve came into this world birthed from yarn they handed down to me in the past year. The doula whom handed me their magical tools is my mentor and very good friend and artist, Pam Patrie . My hope was to honor both of these weavers that have gone off into another realm. I never met them and I don’t think they knew each other. Rugs are not my normal loom work but there is something appealing to daily tactile touch lately. The warm brown yarn is a camel yarn from Sharon’s stash. The bright yellow chunky weft yarn is from Steve’s.
 
This rug measures 26" x 43" and can be hand washed.
